佐賀で学ぶ外国人留学生が心置きなく学業に専念できるよう、また佐賀での生活が充実したものとなるよう、良質で低廉な宿舎の提供を目的として、大学関係者、市民が協力し、 2003年5月に「国際下宿屋」を設立し、同年10月に特定非営利活動（NPO）法人の認可を得ました。
現在、佐賀大学だけで約350名の外国人留学生が在籍していますが、
その内半数近くは奨学金を受けていない私費留学生です。
佐賀で学びたいという留学生は年々増加しております。
政府も留学生数を今の3倍の30万に増大する計画があるようですので、佐賀の留学生数も将来増加することが予想されます。
奨学金や宿舎などの生活支援は益々不足するものと懸念されます。
向学心に燃えた留学生を受け入れることは、日本人学生にとっても切磋琢磨しながら学びあうことができ、国際感覚を養うことにも役立ちます。
彼らは帰国すれば国のリーダーとなる人たちです。
友好関係を築いておくことは、将来、世界の平和に貢献できると確信しています。
私費留学生の生活支援という形で復活を果たしつつある「下宿屋」ですが・ｙぢワンルームマンション志向の日本人学生には死語となりつつあります。
しかし最近、全国でも例のない佐賀発信のユニークな国際貢献策であると評価も受けはじめ、インターネット検索でも、その言葉が垣間見られるようになりました。
みなさんの御協力を得て佐賀発「国際下宿屋（KOKUSAI GESHUKUYA）」を世界の共通語に育ててゆきたいと思います。
そして、「国際下宿屋」で育った青年たちが、世界中で活躍するのを共に楽しみたいものです。

"An international Lodging House"(KOKUSAI GESHUKUYA) of the Saga dispatch in the world in common language
I was aimed for the offer of the lodgings which high quality, was cheapness so that it was it so that the foreign student who learned it in Saga could devote itself to studies without reserve that life in Saga was filled up again, and a gownsman, a citizen cooperated and established "an international lodging house" in May, 2003 and got the authorization of the identification fault profit activity (NPO) juridical person in October of the year.
About 350 foreign foreign students are registered only in Saga University, but the around inner half is a student studying abroad at own expense who does not receive a scholarship now. The foreign students to want to learn it in Saga increase year by year.
Because there seems to be a plan to increase the number of the foreign students to 300,000 of present 3 times in the government, that the number of the foreign students of Saga will increase in the future is expected. It is concerned that the life support such as a scholarship or the lodgings is short more and more.
I can learn that I accept the foreign student who burnt with a desire to learn while working together in competition for the Japanese student and help that I develop an international sense. They are the people who become the leader of the country if I go back to my own country. I am convinced that it can contribute to world peace in the future to build the friendly relationship.
It is "a lodging house" serving as revival in form called the life support of the student studying abroad at own expense, but is becoming a dead language to a one-room apartment-oriented Japanese student. However, I began to receive the evaluation nationwide when it was a unique international contribution plan of the unprecedented Saga dispatch, and the words came to be had a glimpse of by the Internet search recently.
I get cooperation of all of you and want to bring up a departure from Saga "international lodging house" (KOKUSAI GESHUKUYA) in world common language. And young men brought up in "an international lodging house" want to enjoy that I play an active part together all over the world.

大学で学ぶ留学生は、学生食堂があっても外食はほとんどいたしません。
お金がかかるので、下宿の台所で男女問わず自炊です。
日本で知り合った仲のよい仲間と数名で料理して、
食費を少しでも安くあげようとしています。（月の生活費はおおよそ60,000円程度。）
彼らの生活に、食料品・農作物等の差し入れをお願いします。
